Since Katrina I have been a member of the Dutch Alley Gallery, an artist’s co-op here in New Orleans where I’ve been showing and selling pigment based Giclee reproductions of my acrylic paintings. I joined as a means of market testing the products I planned to release at a future time. Once again I've had the opportunity to work among an excellent group of artists and crafts people. As a result of my participation, I now have a lot more hands on experience in what interests you and services I'll soon be offering.
Printers I now own two state of the art Giclee pigment based printers, one a 17” wide Epson 4800, and the other is a 44” wide Epson 9800. Not only that, I have an 8 MP camera I use to photograph my paintings so I can edit them, and produce reproductions of my works that I can take pride in offering to those of you who also find them intriguing.
Limited Editions I was hoping that starting this past September the first I would be offering 36 print, limited editions of the 12 x 15” Giclees but then the economy took its dive. I still intend to follow through on this but only after the economy starts to pick up. They will still be printed on in pigment based giclees on an excellent paper; and they'll still be released on the e-Bay auctions (only) at the rate of seven prints a week.
Unfortunately this year has belonged to Murphy. My computer and I both had health issues that were slowing things down to almost stopped. The computers problem resulted in my losing all my images and stored information on both the hard drive and an exterior hard hard drive I thought would be the answer. Since then I've been re-scanning and editing images as needed, so I'm back to the point that I'm ready to produce the open edition Giclee images I've been offering right along. But they're way better than they were. My health issues were resolved.
Protection for your Treehouse Collection investments. When I am ready to release my Giclee limited edition reproductions, for the first time they will be protected by an undeniable proof of authenticity. This will be because of my use of DNA as opposed to fingerprints or handwriting aa proof, both of which can easily be forged. DNA cannot be faked. So I add blood samples mixed with polymer varnish to the back of the limited edition reproductions I create, and on their certificates of authenticity. The mixture is then covered with another layer of Polymmer varnish so you won't have to worry about coming into contact with it. I do this with my original paintings and Apres Image I paint as well. Plus I keep a duplicate of the certificate of authenticity with the same DNA you will receive along with your name and other pertinent information in a bank deposit box here in New Orleans. Therefore, if your investment is ever challenged, undeniable proof will be available. Incidentally I do not use my own blood for it because who knows, my mortician could get ideas.
One Other Thing When you come to New Orleans to visit, if you would like to visit my studio in the Mid City Studios in order to commission an Apres Image, or to have an interested look at my originals, call 504 486 0220 to make an appointment.
Well, that covers the highlights for now. But please come back, there will be more news as the Treehouse Collection progresses.
